Brittney is a native of Spanish Fort. She began
taking piano lessons at the
age of six from Margaret
Guenther. Through her
years of training and music
participated in Sonata
Contests and State competitions since 1997 - placing every year. Upon her graduation from Spanish Fort High School, Brittney pursued a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama where she studied English, Music Education, and Music Administration. She continued her studies with Dr. Noel Engebretson throughout her college career. She joined Musical Beginnings in Tuscaloosa as an instructor in 2012, and was offered the opportunity to bring the program to Baldwin County in 2013. She acted as Assistant Director of Musical Beginnings Baldwin County, until she became Director in 2015. She believes that all children should have the opportunity for music education, and that music is essential for a well-rounded education. Hillary Schwartz is

Hillary holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama where she studied Music Administration. She also studied Elementary Education. Hillary is a member of the music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota. She first joined the Musical Beginnings team in 2008. She took over as Director in 2015. Hillary believes that music is a vital part of a child's education and strives to foster a lifelong love of music in her students. Hillary resides in Northport with her husband Jacob and three daughters Hailey, Emilia, and Charli Rose. They are members of Safe Haven Church where Hillary serves in the children's ministry. Musical Beginnings provides music instruction to students of all ages in Tuscaloosa Area and Baldwin County, Alabama. We offer private lessons in piano, violin, guitar, drum, flute, and voice. Additionally, we offer Piano Performers, a state of the art, multimedia-enhanced piano instruction program taught in a small group setting in which students have complete autonomy. Research shows that early exposure to music is critical to your child's total development and can make a significant impact on lifelong learning; early musical study can benefit both parents and children. Kuansin Engebretson established the school in 1998 with the positive long-term effects of music education in mind. The school has grown from just a few Kindermusik® classes to a vibrant center of music education serving over 500 students throughout Alabama.

development and education, which made her uniquely qualified to found this conservatory.
Mrs. E, as she is known, has recently retired and passed the
baton to Hillary Schwartz(Tuscaloosa Area) and Brittney Gates Cowart(Baldwin County).
